Andrew Peck, tenor, has lived with his family in the Treasure Valley with his family since 2017. Raised in Eastern Idaho, he completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Performance at BYU-Idaho, followed by a Master’s Degree from the University of Houston in 2009. Andrew began his teaching career at Houston State University in 2009, then at BYU-Idaho from 2010-2014. He then obtained his Doctorate Degree in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University in 2018.
Moving to Boise, Andrew continued his teaching career at McMillan and Desert Sage Elementary schools before transferring to Renaissance High School where he led the music department teaching band, choir, and orchestra. Last year, he was appointed as the choir director at Kuna High School.
Andrew is an active and avid performer as a recitalist and on stage with various companies. On the concert stage, Andrew performed the tenor solo in Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony several times, including with Boise State University and BYU-Idaho. Last season he sang the tenor solo in Mozart’s Requiem with Canyon County Symphony. He has enjoyed a long relationship with Opera Idaho and has been cast in several of their productions. He is delighted to share his musical gift with the audience of Hymns of Thanksgiving this year.
Del Parkinson, piano, is a professor of piano as well as keyboard chair at Boise State university. He was previously keyboard chair at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he taught piano. He holds a doctor of music degree from Indiana University and a postgraduate diploma from The Julliard School. He was the recipient of a Fulbright-Hays grant for graduate study in London.
Del has performed in Europe, Asia, South America, and throughout the United States. His London debut recital was on the American Bicentennial Series, and his New York debut recital in the Carnegie Recital Hall was sponsored by the Idaho Commission on the Arts.
He has soloed with the Guadalajara Symphony, Indiana University Symphony, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, Boise Philharmonic, and the Utah Symphony. He is on the international roster of Steinway artists and is featured on four compact disc recordings. He is a recipient of the Idaho Commission on the Arts fellowship award and the Idaho Governor’s Award for excellence in the arts.
Probably one of the most honored and beloved musicians in all Idaho, he has appeared as a guest soloist for every Hymns of Thanksgiving concerts.
